Shevita Shaw
Clinician in Training
she/her
Shevita Shaw is a graduate student at National Louis University, currently in her clinical training for a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As she enters her fieldwork experience, she is dedicated to deepening her clinical skills while supporting clients with compassion and intention.
Shevita’s passion for mental health and advocacy is deeply personal. Her own experience in therapy sparked a powerful journey of self-exploration, healing, and growth — inspiring her to pursue a career in counseling. She believes in the transformative power of a supportive therapeutic relationship and feels honored to walk alongside others in their own journeys.
As an LCPC in progress, Shevita is committed to creating a safe, empathetic, confidential, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. She practices from a person-centered foundation, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to provide a thoughtful and holistic approach tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals.
Shevita strives not only to be present for her clients, but fully present with them — offering guidance, encouragement, and steady support every step of the way. She values meeting clients exactly where they are, honoring their lived experiences while empowering them to move toward meaningful growth and positive change.
Outside of her clinical work, Shevita enjoys practicing self-care, writing poetry, listening to music, spending time with close family and friends, and occasionally watching a good movie.
