Karla Soto
Clinician in Training
she/her
Karla sees change as a process of reconnecting with the strengths and tools you already carry. “I view my role not as someone who ‘fixes,’ but as someone who supports and guides you as you access your own resilience and growth.” Working from a narrative therapy lens, she helps clients recognize their resilience, reframe their experiences, and rebuild their relationships with themselves and others.
Whether she’s working with individuals, couples, or families, Karla fosters a calm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe, seen, and heard. She supports clients with communication challenges, identity development, family dynamics, and personal growth, and she draws on solution-focused and attachment-based approaches to help each person build sustainable change. Conversations about culture are intentionally welcomed in her work.
“As a second-generation Mexican American, I know it can be scary to enter a new space where you may question yourself.” Having navigated the experience of holding both Mexican and American identities, Karla is especially drawn to working with clients exploring who they are, including bi-racial couples and anyone from historically marginalized communities. “I strive to work collaboratively to explore how your past and current experiences shape who you are.”
Karla is training as a Couple and Family Therapist and earning her graduate degree at Adler University, working through a systemic lens. When she’s not in class or in session, she enjoys reading, dancing, baking, visiting markets around Chicago, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Austin.
